You should make sure you keep your Advisor's contact information and office location along with his/her office hours schedule is a place where you can easily locate it when needed. Don't hesitate to ask for assistance when needed any time you have problems that are interfering with your studies or grades. You should always plan on getting some input from your Advisor whenever you are considering the choosing of a Major course of study or considering changing your Major.
Give your Advisor the same courtesy you would give a Professor before calling on them. That is, sit down and give some serious thought about exactly what you want to discuss and make some notes about questions you have before you knock on their door. Remember that Advisors are not responsible for making decisions for you, but to help you think through decisions that you must make for yourself.
